| The other day one of our tenants was complaining that her clothes dryer wasn't drying her apparel anymore. I had a small mountain of lint that looked like a snow storm come up flying out of the outside vent and the job was done. | I've done the leaf blower for dryer vents for years, works not bad, really cleans well. |

| Offset, I would worry that any excessively long / curve filled duct run is prone to excessive lint collection. Second I would worry that any duct that is plugged out with lint is likely at least a stressed from the excessive weight that tin be caused by wet lint, that may pb to a serious leak / rupture when subjected to the bear upon of high speed foliage blower. Third I worry that blown air alone will not adequately remove all the lint in ductwork. | I have a backpack foliage blower and did that trick at my onetime house every jump. Now, I only have 3ft of duct at my new house so i only use a shop vac. |

| Using a leafage blower is going to be much safer than doing nothing, but it does seem fairly obvious that some lint that has been moisture and adhered to the vent walls will remain and trap more lint. I'm besides uncomfortable with excessively long vents, having seen what happens to long stove vents. Pragmatically, I would be a little less concerned with an electrical dryer than a gas one. With gas, I would follow what chet suggests. The risk/advantage ratio is simply as well severe to do otherwise. With electric, I would exercise the blower pull a fast one on but but to be sure would put a camera on a stick or use some other method of "trust just verify." Eventually, some i will develop a replaceable "wet" filter that will resolve the whole issue safely. |
