Excellent Cookbook! I have been on a quest to find good vegan slow cooker recipes. I am so glad that I picked up this book on a whim!
It has a chapter of vegan recipes as well as one of vegetarian recipes. Numerous recipes in other areas of the book can be easily converted to become vegan.
The recipes call for fresh ingredients that are readily available at the grocery store. I do not not remember encountering any exotic ingredients that I did not recognize. I definitely plan to incorporate numerou

Great book for basic learners like me! I am by no means what you could call a cook. That's why when my friend gifted me my first slow cooker, it was my favorite housewarming gift ever! The author starts with a short history and explanation of slow cookers. Then moves on to diverse recipes from different culinary tastes such as Thai or Latino. Also you get everything from appetizers to main course to desserts. The recipes are very easy to follow. And one of my favorite parts of this book is that i

Also you get everything from appetizers to main course to desserts. The recipes are very easy to follow. And one of my favorite parts of this book is that it's filled with cooking related tidbits throughout, such as the fact that if you mix evaporated milk with equal parts water, you basically get fresh milk. These kinds of tidbits were great for beginning cooks like me!

With my long workdays, I'm relying more heavily on my slow cooker to knock out healthy meals. Many recipes and blogs however have Frankenfood ingredients I just don't buy (i.e. Velveeta, cream of fill-in-the-blank soup, etc.) I like that this cookbook has not only a TON of recipes but it covers vegetarian, side and dessert dishes. I'm "test driving" it on loan from the library until I figure out if I'd like to actually buy it. With my long workdays, I'm relying more heavily on my slow cooker to knock out healthy meals. This is a really great, healthy, family-friendly slow cooker book. The recipes aren't anything too creative, but there are a ton of standbys here that are very easy to make, and don't require trips to the grocery store. I already have some of these from my serious slow-cooker hobby, but this is a really good book for a new parent, or someone who just received a slow cooker. In addition to the usual poultry/meat/side chapters, she also includes meals for larger groups and couples. This is a really great, healthy, family-friendly slow cooker book. A decent cookbook that certainly has a good selection of slow cooker recipes. I'm always looking for a new make-ahead meal & I got several new recipes from this book, most of which actually do appear to be on the healthy side. Not all the recipes included are time savers though. In fact, a good number of recipes in this book require as much work as if you just cook the meal at dinner time. However if you're in a slow cooker rut, this book will definitely add some variety to your meal plans. A decent cookbook that certainly has a good selection of slow cooker recipes. This cookbook has lots of great crockpot recipes. Some of them require pre-cooking, which involves more time and more pans, so I hurried past those. But there were tons of chop and toss prep recipes as well. Will have to check it out from the library again soon!
Lots of interesting recipes!
